(The Recently-Deceased) John Pilger Was A Brilliant, Perceptive, Top-Notch Investigative Journalist - Par Excellence...

But like every other human being who has ever lived he was fallible like the rest of us, with feet of clay and verily a heart in which both good and evil resided...

And so one day he too will 'meet his Maker'...

And so I can only hope he - like every other 'garden variety sinner' - made his peace with the Peacegiver and Peacemaker before that Day (all too soon) arrives...

...though in the 'latter' instance, i.e. vis-a-vis Sissii International's determined and seemingly successful efforts to eradicate the wonderful cultural artifacts of the ancient city of Palmyra - much as its African cousins did in that classical(ly named) centre of pre-civilization, i.e. Timbuktu  - the historian tasked with keeping its museum etc was valiantly prepared to 'be faithful unto death' (as the Book of Revelation  might have put it) in defending it to the death (as it sadly ultimately proved)...
