Heard Much Lately About the Problematic (Radio Interview) Interventions of a Certain Well-Known Prime Minister's Partner/Fiance?
Nope? Join the club, the media - apart from Government-unfriendly Newstalk ZB - simply ain't reporting it, or minimally so...
And why (not)? That generates more questions than it answers, quite frankly...but let me respectfully suggest a couple:
*They don't want to spoil a good thing (i.e. the globally-projected & domestically-reinforced image of a thoroughly corruption-free government, though of course Ms Ardern is hardly answerable to the New Zealand people for the arguably questionable behaviour of her occasionally-recalcitrant hubby-to-be).
*Their right royal special day is, all things being equal, soon upon us, and so ditto for not wanting to spoil a good thing, as in raining on the PM's parade.
*But these two suggest a third very similar 'troubling' but all too predictable and typical thing: why spoil a good thing - i.e. the Jacinda Show - and give even more ammunition to those rapidly ranging themselves under the banner of Christopher Luxon's newfangled National Party Opposition? Why indeed?
Especially when it happens to suit your politically partisan prejudices!
