In the spirit of my beloved (suspended) blogsite, 'David Edwinisms' (http://davidedwinisms.blogspot.co.nz/ (or .com/))...a brickbat and a bouquet for the 'Russkies'...in the reverse order

Part One:

They have a very real point vis-a-vis the United States (and the United Kingdom, or was it France?) apparently snubbing them in regards to commemorations of the 75th anniversary of WW11 ending. Irrespective of the reprehensible conduct of Josef Stalin not only generally but in regard to that horrific war in particular...

 ...what can surely not be denied, and ought not be minimized...

 was the admirable and valiant efforts of the Soviet troops/soldiers in countering the Nazi war machine...

again, however the continent - or rather, the eastern part thereof - of Europe was subsequently carved up...

Part Two:

But a current leader - for life, apparently - the dishonourable Vladimir Putin (for all his masculine bravado and 'charm')...

...has all too predictably assumed 'the last refuge of a scoundrel', as Great Britain's truly great and inimitable WW11 wartime leader Winston Churchill so aptly described things...

as his popularity plummets to record low levels whilst the Covid-19 crisis skyrockets out of control

for his barefaced cheek in seeking to stem the tide of such - the pandemic in Russia, or his fast fading popularity? -you choose - by declaring to his fellow countrymen and women:

When we stand together, we are invincible.

 Nuff Said...and you oughta look that (my original) blogsite up sometime as well...

...especially if you're interested in the real story behind the United States Presidential Election 2016. (It's the August 22nd blogpost, with numerous - and extensive - subsequent additions/appendices; a 42-pager all up in fact, and chronicling the real conspiracy to beat all conspiracies - even acknowledged indirectly as such by a couple who spend much time tracking down the same, and separating the wheat (of true, legit conspiracies) from the chaff (of dime a dozen supposed ones)...).

...though in the 'latter' instance, i.e. vis-a-vis Sissii International's determined and seemingly successful efforts to eradicate the wonderful cultural artifacts of the ancient city of Palmyra - much as its African cousins did in that classical(ly named) centre of pre-civilization, i.e. Timbuktu  - the historian tasked with keeping its museum etc was valiantly prepared to 'be faithful unto death' (as the Book of Revelation  might have put it) in defending it to the death (as it sadly ultimately proved)...

"I Will NOT Pose for your camera/s, My/our faith is not for show": So - apparently - once said a poor Appalachian (or thereabouts) pastor at the conclusion of a funeral service out in the wilds of Pennsylvania to America's popular, one-time TV Show Host Phil Donahue...in remarks now forever after 'immortalized' in and by the well-respected radio evangelist Charles ('Chuck') Swindoll...and they are of no less relevance and vital import and bearing today, whether in the U S of A or here in lil ole God's Own/Godzone...

Though 'it ain't necessarily so', as in so many things reported by today's self-anointed purveyors of truth and reality - who despite seemingly never-ending claims to 'the facts' whilst all other comers (and goers) are supposedly peddling fake news , and generous helpings thereof, themselves so often leave much to be desired insofar as really, truly giving viewers, readers and listeners 'the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth' is concerned, the 'real doss' so to speak - it is a tad concerning (and, what's more, 'worrying') when(ever) any  people in the public eye, let alone 'leaders' in the community (and other assorted 'movers and shakers' in society) use  their (supposed) 'faith' and/or religious pedigree as a kind of prop for public consumption...   And thus and so we had the spectacle of President Trump awhile ago, following the spontaneous eruption of protests and riots throughout the States...
