And, yes, a good first start, Keith Ellison (former Minnesotan Muslim congressman and now state Attorney-General): in indicting George Floyd's killer upon an 'ungraded' charge of second-degree murder - and the pursuit of his associates as accomplices in the crime, I gather - BUT SURELY THE EVIDENCE FOR THE GUILT OF ALL calls for a charge of first-degree murder plus second/third-degree for the other three cops...
But yes, I do well understand how Ellison has been put between a rock and a hard place; as he later explained, in view of the dismal prospect in times past of such charges leading to actual conviction let alone serious sentencing - for police officers in the state of Minnesota, anyhow - his far more conservative, cautionary approach (my assessment and conclusion of the gist of his assessment of things) was more likely to result in a more significant outcome of prosecution against the police officer who killed Floyd, and apparently if warranted the charge could later be upped to first-degree murder.
