I Realize you Might not Happen to Agree, But This is How I See it Anyway

In which case it's for each of us to (seek to) discern the glimmers of hope (however tenuous & slight) such a situation may well involve/presuppose...  

Nevertheless as an historical pre-/post-millenialist I do happen to see the prophetic delineation of the same in the Book of the Apocrypha , i.e. Revelation , as 'proposing'/indicating a 'better' (as in more historically relevant) candidate... Admittedly, one equally vile  (as the Older Testament Book of Daniel  expresses things), but with more 'hits' in its voluminous description thereof... But as a minor 'little' Antichrist counterpart of the aforementioned, a good case could well be made!  

But like every other human being who has ever lived he was fallible like the rest of us, with feet of clay and verily a heart in which both good and evil resided... And so one day he too will 'meet his Maker'... And so I can only hope he - like every other 'garden variety sinner' - made his peace with the Peacegiver and Peacemaker before that Day (all too soon) arrives...

Yes, enough already as to your pretending Hamas (let alone Hezbollah) are ANYTHING BUT terrorist organizations... Or do Jewish lives no longer/once again not really count (in the scheme of things)? Those with any historical memory well recall a certain German fuehrer who just so happened to think along those very lines... ...resulting ultimately in the Holocaust, a ghastly cameo of humanity at its (literal) diabolical (as in Devil-inspired) worst,  something I recall whilst growing up anyone and everyone swore would never happen again...

Yep, new Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown has thus far contravened all the modern, implicitly-accepted customs and mores of 'how to do' politics in the techno-savvy, media-driven political landscape of 21st-century Aotearoa - that much is absolutely beyond dispute . But upon sober reflection over recent days and weeks - especially since disaster #1 hit Auckland like a sledgehammer - I find myself warming to the man and his somewhat quirky, unconventional style (of no-nonsense talk & doing things).  Sure, the political pundits and armchair critics all crawled out of their holes and lambasted his 'non-show' upon the fateful night the rains deluged western Auckland and surrounds, but hearing him give his defence/'two cents worth' defence upon the following afternoon at the standup media conference alongside new P.M. Chris Hipkins I felt he acquitted himself honourably and well. Refusing to engage in verbal tit-for-tat with a lynch mob mentality media rapidly encircli...

Yes, for all you multitudinous conspiracy theorists out there, it ain't such a juicy story, but endlessly more important (and to the point), her view does tend to bear the innate ring of truth... Believe it or not, folks, it's a stressful time out there for innumerable folk these days - not least political leaders, however reviled or revered - and burnout's a very real thing... ...at least speaking from *personal experience, anyhow. *Which ain't ever a bad place to start, I'd suggest. P.S. Which doesn't mean, of course, that factors of fading popularity and an anticipated drubbing at the polls later this year didn't also (at least subconsciously) play into the equation.

Be very afraid, Christopher Luxon & Co - whatever Mike Hosking might happen to say tomorrow; Election 2023's no longer looking like the slam dunk it was just a short time ago.
